Questions & Answers

How old do I have to be for a waxing?

At Deluxe Waxing, treatment is only carried out from the age of 16 with written parental consent. Download declaration of consent as PDF.

How long should the hair be?

To achieve the best possible result, the hair should be 5 mm long.
You should not shave for 2 weeks beforehand.
In the case of slow hair growth or strong roots, this can be up to 3 weeks in rare cases.

Is waxing painful?

This is perceived very differently depending on the area of the body and the person.
As the hair is removed with the hair roots, the treatment is not entirely insensitive, especially in the genital area.
Basically, especially for beginners, if you go for waxing regularly every 4 weeks, you will not have such thick hair and the treatment will be well tolerated.
With regular applications, the hair and roots become finer over the months/years, so that the treatments are virtually insensitive.

What should be considered BEFORE and AFTER waxing?

Please do not use any deodorants, lotions, creams or make-up.
If the skin is still irritated after waxing, avoid direct sunlight, solarium, sauna and brine baths.
Only use a high-quality aloe vera to soothe the skin for the first few hours after waxing.

How long do the results last and how does the hair growth change?

The result lasts from 10 days to 3 weeks.
It varies and depends on how hairy you are and how long you have been waxing regularly.
For people who have been waxing for many years or for people who have previously undergone permanent laser hair removal and still have residual hair, the result lasts from 6 to 8 weeks.
Long-term regular treatments result in the hair becoming finer and less overall.
It is therefore advisable to go for regular waxing even during the winter months.

What can I do about ingrown hairs?

As the skin renews itself approximately every 28 days, you should exfoliate every 4 weeks to prevent the skin from becoming overly horny.
This is best done 2 to 3 days before the next waxing, which usually takes place once a month.
This makes it easier for regrowing hair to penetrate and prevents it from sticking to the dead skin cells.

Be sure to take a bath (a long shower is also possible), soak the skin for 10 to 15 minutes and remove the dead skin cells with a vigorous back and forth movement using a Kese glove (also known as a hamam glove).
This causes sticky hairs to stand up again and can be easily removed during the next waxing.
Deeper ingrown hairs can be removed with a sterile lancet during the next treatment.

ATTENTION !
Other peeling products are generally too weak or too coarse and have no real peeling effect.

How do I cancel my appointment in good time?

An appointment should be canceled at least 24 hours in advance so that it can be rebooked.
If the appointment is canceled less than 24 hours in advance, the treatment must be paid in full before you can book another appointment with Deluxe Waxing.

Can waxing be carried out during pregnancy?

From a medical point of view, there is basically nothing to be said against it, but please consult your gynecologist.
If you decide to undergo intimate waxing for the first time in advanced pregnancy, it is not advisable as the treatment is not entirely painless.

Can waxing be carried out during menstruation?

Basically yes.
Please use a tampon!

When is waxing NOT carried out?

Waxing is not carried out in the case of sunburn, fever, severe varicose veins, open wounds, acne, psoriasis, neurodermatitis, hepatitis and MCS.

Is waxing with piercing possible?

Waxing with a piercing is generally possible.
In rare cases, it is necessary to remove the piercing if it interferes with waxing.
